Rate and Write a Review Before Beck was wearing cowboy hats, there where the quebraditos. Quebradita music is kind of an overlap of banda and nortena. Banda Sinaloense hails from the coastal state of Sinaloa, Mexico, and is usually all brass. Nortena comes from the northern state and has more of a Vaquero (cowboy) sound going on, with accordions. Both sets like leather, and lots of fringe. It's called quebradita after a serious dipping move where the female dance partner is cradled close to the floor. Quebrarla is to dip or break the back,' At this place you can "quebrar" to live bands, the kind with matching colorful outfits and coordinated swinging from side to side. Even Beck wouldn't look as cool in a black and gold jacket with the world Machos written across it. -- Roco Carlos
