Pull yourself off the couch and prepare for an adrenaline rush. This isn't one of those passive theme parks where visitors strap themselves in and let some ride do all the work. Hollywood Sports is all about blood, sweat and -- in the case of paintball, often -- tears. Billing itself as the "first-ever action sports and recreation park," the Bellflower attraction boasts a range of "extreme" activities, including rock climbing, volleyball, BMX biking, skateboarding and tennis -- to name a few. The owners have gone all out to ensure that park-goers receive the full Hollywood treatment. Rather than the usual Capture the Flag paintball game offered elsewhere, HS challenges players to different missions that are assigned before each match. The teams are then let loose on one of four fields, each featuring original set pieces from such action flicks as 'Starship Troopers' and 'Water World.' At night (if you still have any energy left), romp in the arcade and nightclub amidst decor from the film 'The Haunting.' Or continue your extreme playtime; most fields and sports areas are open after dark and are well lighted.
