Malarky's is unpretentious and instantly hospitable in the Irish pub tradition, especially at the copper-topped square bar where everyone can ogle one another without seeming desperate. The place jumps on weekends, swarmed on by the buff and the beautiful beach brats. But Malarky's is free of antagonistic polarities among its crowd, unlike Cassidy's. Only peace and love fill the house like foam insulation, keeping the warmth in and the cold out. -- CJ Bahnsen
