Chomp has every ingredient you could ask for in a Japanese steakhouse, and they all add up to one thing: fun. Imagine teppan grills with master chefs tossing chunks of shrimp into diner's mouths. Add to that a rocking karaoke stage where inebriated CSUF students and young neighborhood locals murder top 40 tunes. In other words, it's impossible to have a dull experience here. The restaurant offers plush booths, stools around the teppan grill, traditional sushi bar seating and a romantic patio. Don't worry, though, wherever you choose to sit, you won't miss out the loud rock music blasting throughout the restaurant. On the weekends, it gets louder and more crowded. Think of it as nightclub but with better food. Be sure to make a reservation at least a week in advance. You could wait up to two hours without one. Also, if you're a big sushi fan, try Chomp on Thursday night when $20 gets you all you can eat. -- Michael Alarcon

I'vee seen it twice - had to wrap up some things I missed the first time around. The acting is over the top. Some transitions are not that clear.

FUN night out
By gemgirl464 on 08/23/2007
My husband and I are Fullerton locals and we bring our friends to Chomp for a great night out often. Great big martinis and excellent sushi you just can't go wrong. We have also had several appetizers that were tasty too (especially crab wontons). It's crowded so no doubt the word is out- but worth the wait we think.

I actually have never been to chomp, but I have been to riptide in mission viejo, and the same people own both restaurants. There were some cases a few months back at riptide where people ate bad sushi and got tapeworms from it. During thursday night all you can eats at riptide, some of the sushi is premade before you get there, such as the crunchy rolls. For the best sushi and all you can eat bar in orange county, ca beach in newport is your best bet. 21.95 all you can eat along with all you can eat apetizers + everything is very fresh.
