It's appropriate that In Cahoots is primarily a country-western bar because its interior is the spitting image of a barn -- and it's about as big as one, too. Aside from its resemblance to something that might house farm animals (complete with exposed wood beams), it's also one of Orange County's most popular venues. Dance club promoters have been using this space since 1998 for everything from raves to after-hours clubs -- so much so that country nights have become the minority. The square footage isn't the only big part of In Cahoots. Since it often gets filled to capacity, there are lines to get into the club, to get a drink and to use the restroom, which all take three times longer to get through than your average nightspot. The same wait can be expected at the pool tables and dartboards, too. In Cahoots is a premier nightspot, whether it's country, techno, hip-hop, or swing night, so the name of the game is patience and appearance. Bring those two virtues with you (along with money for the occasionally overpriced bar) and you'll be fine.

I've had two experiences here and i've never failed to see drama happening with the bouncers and management. The best one was recently when a friend of mine was pulled to the side because the blue background of his CA id was a little off?? So what did he do? Well, he thought it was a fake and decides to check it under a light. He finds the hologram and decides that the placement of the hologram looks a little off. So what does he do next, leaves my friend in a small roped off area, and continues letting people in. We ask what he needed to prove his racist mind that my friend was of age... and he said a passport. Well fortunately, my friend's roommate was still at home and was bringing it, but that would have take another half hour for him to get to the area. Oh yeah, Angel (name of the bouncer), also mentions that maybe a policeman can verify it, but he still believes the infomation on the id was still off?!? Where do they get these bouncers? This was a special event so people inside and outside knew us well and that we were for sure over 21. Another bouncer said that he trusts his coworkers decision, and I believe that he was probably more interested in the underage girl he was trying to firt with in the line. It all boiled down to a bunch of friends inside getting a hold of the manager. He comes out, finally gets the id from the bouncer, Angel, and with his supreme skills in customer service, has no real clue of what to do. So he gives back the id, offers the invitation for my friend to come in with the stipulation that he doesn't drink?!?!? Wow. Great service. We decided to head to downtown Fullerton, where his id was checked and scanned while bar hopping.... each with no problem whatsoever. Here's to In Cahoots and their poor service. If you go, just make sure to avoid an encounter with the bouncer, Angel.

Security is bias. If the big ugly ogres decide they don’t like you that night, they'll kick you out of the club based on nothing. Really ruins the night when your friend is accused of something ridiculous and impossible and they will not even say anything reasonable. I would never suggest anyone go there when security insists on ruining a night and management is ignorant and unreasonable.

With new paint, new carpet, best dance instructors in OC, food, drinks what more could you ask for? - Maybe a new instructor for Weds. nights, one that can dance herself and not so skanky. She gives the place a bad name!
