Long before eating healthy became a pop culture trend, OC-based Rutabegorz was quietly serving organic and vegetarian fare in a coffeeshop environment. Lunch is most popular and by dinnertime Gen-Xers take over the place, making it more of a hanging-out-and-studying spot. You can customize sandwiches, crepes and wraps. Chairs and tables are a mish-mash of vintage and new, and most of the clientele are from local businesses or college campuses. In addition to the extensive coffee and fresh juice menu at this Bohemian-style cafe, you can order veggie burritos, pasta, spinach lasagna and stuffed mushrooms. Other favorites include the avocado and mushroom quesadillas, which are served in whole-wheat tortillas with black-bean chili and cheese fondue. There are vegan options, and everything is homemade. The cafe doubles as a bakery, so don't pass up its venerable carrot, dark chocolate and rocky road cakes.

They have a restaurant in Orange also. I've been to that one and the one that was in Tustin. Really original and fun stuff. Some of the dishes are so large, that my wilfe and I will share them. It takes a long while to figure out what to order - the menu is LARGE !!! I dig it though.....
