The designer behind Stubrik's knew exactly what a real steakhouse should look like. With its exposed brick walls, dimmed light sources, varnished maple tables and blues music piped in through the hidden sound system, Stubrik's is the quintessential steakhouse. But rest assured, this place doesn't rely on its good looks to get by. The varieties and grades of steak are beyond belief. The filet mignon is easily the most popular cut of the bunch: served with fluffy garlic-tinged mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables and the kitchen's famous buttery cheese bread, this basic but flavorful order has put Stubrick's on the map. Make sure you start off the meal with a salad though, prepared in a chilled metal bowl with large crisp lettuce leaves, square-inch croutons and plump cherry tomatoes. The waiters and bartenders are a little young and brash, but don't confuse their haste with rudeness. Stubrik's is lively little eatery and it's that energy that separates it from the stodgier steakhouse.

Not All That!
By BgBry on 07/10/2008
My motto is: "If You Don't Know How To Cook A Steak.....Don't Serve It". I've been to Stubrik's twice. The first time I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the New York Steak and I enjoyed it. The steak was fairly tender and flavorfull. The second time was a totally different story. I again ordered the New York Steak since it is my favorite cut. I tend to go toward the leaner cuts and cooked medium-well. Medium-well does not mean cool and rare. It was so rare that I had a hard time chewing the meat. Also, it was hard to tell it was rare by looking at it since the area of the restaurant where we sat was dark but lit with a red bulb. HMMMM....wonder why? I could not accept this so I asked my server to send it back and cook it longer. He did and it came back still under cooked. Sent back a third time which was then cooked long enough but not as satisfying as the first time. This also took over 30 minutes to occomplish. Just to add; I am not a complainer, I am not hard to please. For me, the best steak is either a Choice or Prime Cut, Prime being the most optimal simply black pepper, salt and granulated garlic can put a smile on my face- BUT IT NEEDS TO COOKED CORRECTLY.

Love the food, the people and love this place!
By Mdevenpeck on 06/13/2008
The food is excellent and its so rare to get a dinner in Orange County that is exceptional. The people serving were very knowledgeable and brought each entree out in a timely manner. Not only is the atmosphere plesant but with their new remodel you are going to want to make this a regular stop. The quality of the food is hands down the best in the area. If you haven't been here you haven't experienced what Orange County dining should be!
