Presenting national acts of almost every genre two to five nights a week, the Grove of Anaheim is one of Orange County's premier venues for pop music. Considering it is smaller than the typical rock stadium, the caliber of musician it attracts is quite impressive. After getting a $20 million face-lift in 1999, this 1,600-seater books acts that would not normally play a venue of that size. Catering to a somewhat older crowd, this is not a stadium show or dive bar chock full of tattoos and piercings. The decor is classy enough that you won't feel like hurling chairs at the band if they put on a less than stellar show, yet folksy enough to not make rock and rollers feel out of place. Of course, there's plenty of alcohol on sale to let you forget the difference.
