True to its name, Mollie's is exactly what you might imagine a restaurant fashioned after a country kitchen would look like -- well, one that's located in the suburbs of Orange County, anyway. But let's get away from the restaurant's interior decor -- the real draw to this cafe is the food: good old-fashioned fare served in large portions with simple presentation. With doors opening at 6AM, it's obvious that breakfast is the big draw here. Hot platters covered with scrambled eggs, hash browns and pancakes that practically blanket the circumference of the plate are favored by those who dine in, while bagels and pastries are top takeout choices. The lunch and dinner crowds have their pick of uncomplicated American staples such as sandwiches, burgers, meatloaf and chicken-fried steak combos. Mollie's surroundings might not achieve the 'Little House on the Prairie' vibe its owners are going for, but the simplicity of its menu makes the concept believable.
