A few positive phrases come to mind when people bring up the Orange Hill: spectacular Sunday brunch, great view overlooking the entire north county, memorable wedding receptions. Unfortunately, there are some phrases that aren't so favorable: forced valet parking, extremely long waits (even with reservations) and very high prices. But don't let these facts deter you from one of the best dining experiences in Orange County. As far as the menu is concerned, Orange Hill keeps it very basic: thick steaks, fresh fish, seasoned poultry and exceptional lamb. You can't go wrong with anything you order here, the master chefs see to that. The real reason OC restaurant aficionados keep returning is the atmosphere: wedding parties, couples celebrating anniversaries and those newly in love swear by this place. There are also several special events throughout the year, including a big Thanksgiving celebration and festive New Year's Eve shindig. Also be sure to make time to lounge by one of the outdoor fire pits overlooking the city, while sharing a good bottle of wine. -- Michael Alarcon

Still The Best!
By daddoe56 on 11/09/2007
I've been going to Orange Hill for special occasions for years and this place just keeps on getting better! You can't beat the ambiance of the waterfall and koi pond at the front, the finely decorated interior and the beautiful view at the back over looking OC. Dimly lit firepits make it a very romantic setting. The lobster was perfect and the service excellent!

Best Dining Experience Ever
By jford86697 on 09/07/2007
My fiancee and I were in the mood to try something new one night so we decided to check out The Orange Hill. And I am so glad we did. I had THE BEST dining experience of my life. Our server, Bill, was very polite, intelligent, and funny. When we both ordered filet mignon he insisted we try the chateabrian. We also needed help selecting a wine to go with it. After asking us a few questions, Bill selected a red wine for us that was exactly what we described and paired with our chateabrian perfectly. After dinner he recommend that we have dessert on the patio and watch the fireworks. Anyone who likes amazing food, top notch service, romantic setting at a great price, you have to try this restaurant.

Its about time!!!
By ocfood911 on 04/10/2007
I have not been to this restaurant in 4 yearsand let me tell you this place was as bad as it could be with bad food and bad service. So I was very skeptic in going there again with friends in town. Well when we arrived we had 7:30 reservations and the place was very busy as we had to wait for our table for a couple of minutes. We then got sat and I was holding my breath that we have a good time. Let me say this the place has made a big difference in food and wine. The sommelier was a french guy who great and the food is so much better than what i can ever remember. We ate the calamari (one of the best i have ever tasted) as well as well as the scallops which I wish it came 4 pieces instead of 3 because we were a party of 4 but nonetheless it was very delicious. The seabass and the tableside halibut was to die for as well as the filet with crabmeat. Its about time this restaurant used its great food and wine and not the view to help over see bad food and service as it has done before in the past.

Go somewhere else
By jypark425 on 03/24/2007
I have been to the orange hill numerous times. The quality of food and service have seemed to go down in recent years. We asked our Filet Mignons to be cooked Medium and they were cooked almost well done, the Foie Gras wasn't prepared properly, charged me 5 dollars for few pieces of romaine lettuce with cesar dressing drizzled over it. Service was also very slow because they were so busy. It took them 15 minutes to seat us eventhough we had reservations and 1 hour to get our food to us. Go somewhere else for the money, you'll get better food and better service.
