Super Mex   

The Mexican fare at Super Mex is a collage of colors with red and green sauces, mounds of guacamole, and dollops of snow-white sour cream covering the plate. This local mini chain has several locations, including an understated storefront along Surf City's Beach Boulevard. For years the restaurant only offered the basics: tacos, enchiladas, tostadas and chile relleno. Burritos came in two sizes: Junior or Super. Now the menu has expanded to include appetizers and a separate calorie-conscious menu that includes burritos wrapped in whole-wheat tortillas. Super Mex also offers a selection of bottled beer along with some of the best chips and salsa this side of the border.
