Original Pancake House   

Eating at this Anaheim staple is like having breakfast at Mom's house. The dining room is noisy, the table's a bit too small, and there are always people rushing through the narrow walkways behind you. Consider it less a hindrance than a big part of the Original Pancake House's charm. Besides, you really can't complain. Where else are you going to find puffy Dutch pancakes dusted with powdered sugar and lemon? And forget about finding a better waffle. The Pancake House piles theirs underneath six inches of whipped cream and just about any fruit available. As for sides, you can't go wrong with the lean bacon or potato pancakes. The service is just like Mom's too. Coffee cups and juice glasses are constantly topped off and the waitresses are so friendly, they're practically ambassadors of Anaheim. Expect a long line for the Pancake House experience. It takes a solid 20 minutes to get a table on weekends. -- Michael Alarcon
