It looks like a greasy spoon, but the Yellow Basket is actually a pretty nice restaurant in disguise. Its centered perfectly between Santa Anas dense residential area and the northern tip of Costa Mesas white-collar office courts, so the regulars consist of commuters rushing in for an inexpensive breakfast (the morning burritos and sandwiches are the most popular) and neighborhood locals. The lunch/dinner menu is classic diner fare with Mexican basics thrown in (think tacos and burritos), but the Yellow Basket hallmark is the hamburger. With more than a dozen variations, theres nary a moment when you cant hear fresh patties sizzling as they hit the grill. A basic cheeseburger-and-fries combo will satisfy those with the biggest appetites, but if you really want to get lost in the gluttony, order the double chili cheeseburger with bacon and fries (and have a cardiologists phone number on hand).

It does look like a greasy spoon from the outside but the food is pretty good. I havent tried their hamburger but if you want a great breakfast with a lot of hashbrowns this is the place.

in n out is over priced!!!
By Z 12 Ent on 06/13/2008
I don't know if you've even compared in n outs burgers to McDonalds 89 cent cheeseburger? Guess what? Their the same burger. Only that in and out adds tomatos, lettuce and onions to thiers and charge over a 1.25 more! As for the Yellow basket guys, they give you a great tasting burger for a great price. Needless to say, that they also server breakfast, lunch and dinner in case you want something else other than burgers? Also, the people there are very nice too.
