If you're looking for a place to dance to good tunes minus the pretentiousness of many other clubs that try to keep a "hip" edge, then make a stop at Independent Bar. When you walk in, the long bar that greets you in the outer foyer is a good place to grab a quick drink or to sit and watch through the windows as people meander past. Around the corner is where the dancing begins, with a good size dance floor and a small raised stage in front for those who really like to get down. The DJs play a fantastic mix of music, from Old Wave classics to Chemical Brothers to everything in between. Out back there's an open-air courtyard, along with a stage and live music. Another bar serves as a good pit stop on the way to another indoor bar and dance floor. Cover is reasonable and suggesting a dress code is tough because everyone has their own style here. But as long as you bring your dancing shoes, you'll be fine.

The ultimate 80's dance club in Orlando

If you want to experience the best 80's alternative dance club in Orlando, the Independent Bar is the best place to dance all night! I've been going to this same club when it was formerly The Beach Club, then Barbarellas. I highly recommend it to everyone

If there is one place I am going to miss the most when I leave Orlando its independent bar! Every night its a different place, not to mention this one wednesday when there were like a million HOT goth chicks dancing out there.. ahh the memories

Independent Bar is the only good club in Orlando! The music is the best, and you can be yourself without anyone judging you!!!! Sundays and Wednesdays are the best nights.
