Copper Rocket Pub   

Like Will's Loch Haven Pub, this neighborhood watering hole in Maitland was founded to provide barflies with an alternative to the downtown bar scene. Everyone from urban professionals and academicians to rednecks and lushes are drawn to the pub's unpretentious attitude and voluminous menu of beers on hand. The taproom's entrance is so front and center that you almost expect patrons to yell out your name when you pass through the door, but folks here are just too laid back to even notice. Rather, you'll see them sitting in the booths, high tables or bar area in the back guzzling down the more than 100 domestic and imported brews offered, such as Grolsch Lager, La Fin Du Monde and Lindemans Framboise. The assorted menu of pub grub is hit or miss, but if you stick to the standards -- wings, sandwiches and fish and chips -- you won't go wrong. Local music acts rock out on the small stage near the entrance on select evenings while on Wednesday nights, MANDADDY hosts one of the most irreverent trivia nights in any bar in the city. The free Friday happy hour buffet (4PM-7PM) attracts a fair-sized crowd and Thursdays and Sundays feature free pool.
