Have a dark ale and imagine you've been transported across the pond -- the interior of this spacious Irish pub and restaurant was all crafted on the Emerald Isle, from the antique bar and furniture to a statue of Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh, who wrote the poem, 'The Dawning of the Day.' Then there are the brews -- Irish ales, lagers and whiskies served at four bars, and live Irish bands nightly. But the food is the star of the show, with Irish Chef Kevin Dundon behind the creative, contemporary cuisine. Dundon has cooked for celebs from Queen Elizabeth to U2 and Brad Pitt, and is a star on the UK's Food Channel. His menu features classics with a contemporary twist, like fish and chips with the fish flown in daily, served in a light, crisp beer batter. Shepherd's pie is missing the heavy potatoes and gravy -- instead it's Colorado lamb and Angus beef with a swirl of creamy potatoes lifting off the top. Roast rack of lamb arrives with a light, broth-based Irish stew. An indulgent loin of bacon is glazed with Irish Mist and served with creamy potatoes and braised cabbage. Don't think of leaving without a Dunbrody Kiss, a decadent chocolate mousse with a crunchy caramel base is drizzled with chocolate ganache sauce. The live Irish entertainment is part of the fun -- and it's free. The Pleasure Island admission is waived at Raglan Road. -- Pam Brandon

Raglan Road is worth Trying!!
By delta97777 on 03/12/2007
Been to most of the So-Called Irish Pubs around town and in my opinion, Raglan Road is at or about the tops in Orlando area. Fiddlers Green in Winter Park would be a very close second. The size of the place allows you to be seated fairly quickly and there's always a good view of the Band. Speaking of the Band, the house band from Ireland is always at the top of their game. Great musicians with a unique flair all their own. Saw a local regular there, Paul Duffy, and he brought an Americanized version of Irish Music and as usual was good. Food is a bit pricy but it is for the most part above average in taste and the Menu is traditional Irish with several very good surprises. The food there isn't so -so as they one review suggests. The key for me to a good Irish Bar/ Pub , is whether or not they have a great Beer selection and Raglan Road does...I would give Raglan Road my second highest review, 4 Black and Tans..
