It seems like a miracle that this restaurant immortalizing Forrest Gump, his best friend Bubba and their crustacean obsession didn't find its way to Orlando sooner, what with all our themed outlets for food fun. The Bubba Gump outpost at Universal CityWalk opened at the end of July 2006, and is now the twentieth location for the California-based chain (the nautically themed store fills the CityWalk gap most recently vacated by Motown). As long as you like your comfort food fried, you'll enjoy the Southern-inspired seafood eats on tap. Signature dishes include the 'Bucket of Boat Trash,' a hearty spread of fried shrimp, lobster and mahi-mahi. Other shrimp-centric items include everything from popcorn and Cajun-style shrimp to good old pink peel 'n' eats, coconut shrimp and a stuffed-with-crabmeat version. And for the landlubbers at your table, there's Southern fried chicken and baby back ribs. Fans of the film will love the movie memorabilia -- including Forrest Gump storyboard reproductions and costumes -- hanging on the restaurant's walls. Should the faux seaside setting turn your mood oceanic, you can always hit the surf shop across the street for some post-meal retail therapy. --Terry Ward
