When a restaurant dedicates itself solely to Sunday brunch, it better be good. La Coquina, which has relegated its dinner services to private parties so as to concentrate on its elaborate weekly brunch, is better than good. In fact, it's better than great. Year after year, this classy establishment, nestled on the ground floor of the Grand Cypress Hotel, is voted the best brunch in town. The French-inspired, prix fixe menu changes weekly to showcase the freshest fruits, meats and seafood of the season. There are always several entree choices, including fresh Florida seafood, and a game selection that could be anything from buffalo to ostrich. The lavish spread includes shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half-shell, New Zealand green mussels, fresh fruits and berries, handmade desserts, eggs Benedict -- the list goes on and on. And La Coquina's most unique feature is its open, working kitchen, where you can watch the chefs as they prepare the dish of your choice, just for you. The champagne, which is a Spanish label exclusive to the Hyatt, flows freely throughout the feast. And the glassed-in dining room's lovely panoramas of Windsong Lake invite you to linger long after your meal in utterly contented repose. -- Terry Ward

If money is no object, then you have to experience La Coquina Brunch. It is truely first rate. It is expensive, but they do not skimp on quality or integrity. Everything is artfully presented with class. Best brunch around anywhere, bar none...and worth the big check, from caviar to truffles. Top of the line in any city.

This is one of the truly greatest, a bit pricey, but well worth it, the staff very attentive, love the piano playing while dining. Go on try a little of everything, it's all fresh and food that's good for you too. Order half portions from the chef, then you can sample them all :) Do not be in a rush, it's a great place to relax, eat, and enjoy your company. When making reservations, they require a credit card # to "hold" the reservations. One reservation you would not want to miss in any event!
