Schedule: Sat. 7AM-1PM The scoop: For over two decades, local farmers have set up shop on Saturday morning at this outdoor market on New York Avenue. The action starts by 7AM, when the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air. A handful of outdoor tables fill quickly with early birds munching croissants and bagels from vendors -- fresh produce seems secondary at this market that features cheeses, salsas, freshly baked breads and seafood, as well as beautiful orchids and other plants (though beautiful produce is abundant). By 10AM, the legendary 'Coach' has set up his portable barbecue and the hordes carry home ribs and chicken. Around 1PM, everyone begins closing up shop for another week. The scene: Well-heeled Winter Parkers, with an assortment of coifed dogs on leashes or baby strollers, are elbow to elbow. It's the place to see and be seen, so if you're a serious shopper, come before 8AM. Insider tips: Don't miss the fresh- squeezed lemonade, the butterfly tent, Old Hearth Bakery breads, and the pickle man. Come early for the organic produce, perfect and delicate lettuces, eggplants and more go fast.

Took some friends (we all live outside Orlando)to see downtown Winter Park for the first time, and our hearts were stolen by the Farmer's Market. What fun and nice merchants! Now I want to bring everyone I know here!

My husband and I have been going to The Winter Park Farmers Market since we moved to the area 10 years ago and throughly enjoy all of it's offerings. It's a wonderful place to pick up fresh herbs, produce, breads and cheeses as well as beautiful plants, flowers, pots and garden ornaments. It's also a great place to pick up one of a kind type gifts, soaps and essential oils. The "Pickle Man" has the best half sour pickles I've tasted. There is a kettle corn booth out on the street that offers samples of the delicious popped corn, but we find it extremly overpriced. Don't forget to stop by the Paradise Cheesecake booth and try one of the cannolis,or a mini cheese cakes.....the best in town!! We love the diversity of all of foods, a real ethnic treat! The only drawback are the dog owners who do not clean up after their dogs outside the market area. We have also witnessed a few dog fights, which can be rather frightening in such a small enclosed area.
