Since opening its doors back in 1988 inside the Grand Floridian resort (pictured), the grande dame of Walt Disney World's restaurant scene has retained its status as Orlando's ultimate special-occasion dining locale. The domed ceiling, marble columns and plush velvet interior spawn an air of class and sophistication, and elegant touches like Frette linens, Riedel crystal and Christofle silver from France have placed the restaurant on the coveted AAA Five-Diamond Award list three years running. Courses are served by your own personal maid and butler, appropriately named Victoria and Albert, and a harpist entertains diners with soft music throughout the evening. The seasoned stewardship of Chef Scott Hunnel and his unparalleled prix-fixe menu (changed daily) regales gourmands with a meticulously customized seven-course meal of the freshest game, poultry, beef and fish, with each dish designed to complement the last. The $95 gastronomic adventure (additional $50 with wine pairings) may start with seared Hudson Valley foie gras over vanilla-scented brioche with Fuji apples and apple cider reduction, then go on to favorites like dayboat diver scallops over a polenta cake with Zellwood corn coulis and a trendy roasted red pepper foam, or herb-roasted elk tenderloin. His grand finale is the Kona chocolate souffle, a light-as-air creation that you can savor knowing every calorie is absolutely worth it. -- Faiyaz Kara and Pam BrandonInsider's Tip: For a truly special experience, consider reserving the Chef's Table (pictured). The four-hour dining experience provides a glimpse into Hunnel's creative dishes.

The Best Fine Dining
By Atwood1025 on 07/23/2008
The service and food are superior and anyone who is having trouble with the age of people isn't very wise because with age comes wisdom. We live in a fast pace world and it is nice to have something better to go to than hurry and eat. We need to relax and enjoy and let the pallet know the flavors of what is consumed. Keep up the good work Chef Hunnel!

Victoria & Albert's

Is there a better chef in the State of Florida then "Scott Hummel"? I don't think so! Disney is wise to have such a wonderful dedicated chef care for their guests. Chef Hummel, sure know how to make dinning in Victoria and Albert's a "Magical" experience. From start to finish this is just a perfect evening. Thank you so much!

DEAD SERVERS
By MRLEMB69 on 07/04/2008
It's just too bad that it has to be a Disney restaurant. I am so tired of the people that work at Disney. Most of them have been there since Walt was alive and they move about as fast as Walt does now. It seems to me that Disney worries a bit too much about catering to it's guest (which they should) but not enough for the staff working there. Let ALL the staff work, not just the ones that were found in the dirt when the broke ground on WDW.
