Keller's Bar-B-Q   

By far the most compelling destination in this far-from-compelling strip mall, Keller's has been drawing raves from barbecue connoisseurs the city over. The third outpost in the Keller's family (there's one in Lake Mary and one in Altamonte as well), this smoke joint has a slightly disturbing interior of cow-print tablecloths and murals of farm critters, yet you'll find those tables filled with Full Sail and UCF students chomping on the down-home dishes of Todd Keller, whose father founded the legendary Fat Boys' Bar-B-Q chain. Those dishes include smoked turkey on garlic bread slathered in sweet sauce, and the deliciously fat and smoky ribs. The flavors of both are enhanced by a side of the homemade baked beans and any of their three sauces: original mustard, spicy tomato and sweet tomato (a mix of the hot and sweet works best). Hungry diners get a bit of everything with a sample platter of sliced pork, beef and a quarter chicken, while the smoked chicken salad -- with red onions, cukes and tomato wedges -- provides a healthier alternative. Orders are delivered in good time and the wait staff are a lively and friendly bunch. Sundays feature all-you-can-eat specials and if the lack of elbow room inside gets to you, take your feast outside and enjoy the parking lot view.
