Rate and Write a Review Located within people-watching distance of one of downtown's more notorious nightclubs (the oh-so-risque-and-underage Tabu), this lounge-style eatery will draw you more for the atmosphere than for the food. Lunch is served during the week. At night, when Room 3-Nine takes on more of a bar atmosphere, the same menu satisfies midnight-munchers -- but don't come looking for a fancy feed. The menu centers on pub grub, like chicken strips and personal pizzas. More creative options include hummus, which comes served with tortilla chips instead of the standard pita bread corners, and a variety of healthy wraps. Sandwich selections range from the basic turkey version, to a ham and cheese combo ambitiously named a Croque Monsieur. Two different lasagna specials are offered each week. The speakeasy dcor is warm and inviting, with an urban landscape of bricks, wood and rich fabrics coddling distressed leather furniture. The large, wood bar draws beer connoisseurs for pints of Stella Artois from Belgium, always on tap. -- Terry Ward
