Higher priced than the previous occupant, Urban Outfitters, but not significantly different in merchandise (they're owned by the same company), Anthropologie is the perfect place to shop for those cyber-junkie, SUV-driving, dot-com CEO types who'd rather wear silk hip huggers than silk tie blouses. The main floor carries designer urban fashions for women with ethnic flare, as well as accessories mirroring the more authentic versions found in exotic locales. Anthropologie also offers unusual jewelry pieces such as the Prt a Porter charm bracelet (a humorous bauble busy with miniature shoes), purses, and clothing accessories. Downstairs you'll find household items and furniture, some of which truly qualify as "conversation pieces," including throws, pillows, candles, occasional tables, and lighting accessories. Don't overlook the collection of wicker and rattan furniture, either. With gift certificates available, this is a good place to introduce your friends to the urban cool of ethnic inspired clothing, furniture, and accent pieces.
