Brownie's 23 East   

Great local bar for the mainline crowd. Used to just go on weekends until we discovered "sink or swim" wednesdays. Great place to see a cover band and dance - not for the claustrophopic as it can be a bit crowded on the dance floor but always a good time. The bands that play there consistently always have a good following - great to meet new people - mostly Nova crowd and mid/late 20somethings from the Mainline and surrounding area. See ya there.

Brownie's oh Brownie's.... Had some of the best and worst times of my life (so far) here. Tends to get too crowded at Friday Night Happy Hour (mostly Nova kids). Now that cover is up to $6 at all times...i think twice before going. Every tuesdaynight is Hippie Night, a Grateful Dead Cover Band plays...(i love them, be forewarned). Overpriced after any specials, so get there on time. Don't even think about underaging it! Typical cover bands... no room to dance, so dont even pretend its a club.

I totally disagee. I was at Brownies 23 East Tuesday night & saw & heard some great entertainment..Max Meyer & Mary Arden Collins. I also sipped Guiness from a 20 oz glass the way it's supposed to be served. You should check the place out again on a Tuesday night.

I hang out at Brownies and have always found it a pretty cool place to party. Nobody gets out of hand. They don't rip you off like alot of Delaware Ave Clubs. Also it's a really safe area w/ lots of free parking. The best part is the quality of the bands that play there. This guy doesn't get out much.
