Full service, business class hotel that is convenient to the Philadelphia stock exchange, government buildings including City Hall and quality shopping from the Liberty Place to Chestnut Street. The Elephant & Castle restaurant and E&C Express cafe/gift shop are accessible from the lobby. Room rates range from $129 to $229, depending on the day of the week and the rooms classification. Top-level suites may include a kitchen and dining area. The hotel caters to traveling top-management, especially those on a liberal expense account. Although such urban amenities as parking rarely come cheap, the Crowne Plaza offers little discount: Parking will run you $20 per twenty-four hours and their charge for local calls is among the highest for city hotels at $0.85 each. However, the Crowne Plaza is one of the few city hotels with a pool, and its out of doors. A section of the eighth floor has been designed as a patio, complete with pool and landscaping; weather permitting, its an ideal portal into a zone of relaxation. --Allison Eckel
