Geno's is open 24/7, so at any time of the day or night you can find a gothic mix of maybe-mobsters, pseudo-celebs, local families and cousins from the West Coast who simply must try the world-famous cheesesteaks. These are old-world-style steaks with thicker-than-you'd-expect slices of beef, slathered with your cheese of choice (American, provolone or Cheez Whiz.) Thankfully, the gristle in the steaks is kept to a minimum. Service is usually fast and un-obnoxious, although, nothing will elicit a scowl quicker than not knowing how to order correctly. The simplest way is to tell them what kind of cheese you want and whether or not you want onions. Chatting with the help is not encouraged -- at any time of the day or night. If you do so, you may just get ejected and have to go across the street to the other 24/7 cheesesteak joint, Pat's.

OK AT BEST
By JJVSeniors on 11/20/2009
WHILE BETTER THEN PAT'S, THE BEST STEAK SANDWICH IS AT JOHN'S ROAST PORK(SYNDER AND WACAHOE). GREAT PORK ALSO. I HATE PUTTING THE WORD OUT BECAUSE THEY STOP SELLING STEAK SANDWICHES AROUND 2:00PM WHEN THEY RUN OUT OF ROLLS. BIGGER , LESS EXPENSIVE,AND BETTER QUALITY THEN PAT'S AND GENO'S
