Lurking amidst the cheesy bars and cheap shoe stores of South Street is a comedy club that provides some real laughs -- of the genuine-laugh variety. The Laff House's lineup of local and national talent five nights a week is generally more Chris Rock than Jerry Seinfeld, and the crowd tends to be one of the more diverse in town. Cozy up to your date (and possibly strangers) at the small shared tables, where you can munch on finger food while you take in the talent. There's always the chance that you'll witness an up-and-comer at the weekly open mic night every Wednesday, but if you want to play it safe stick to weekend nights, when the more established names take the stage.
