Good Brunch Not my Late Night
By cynthiaerskine on 03/09/2006
The Royal has some great food, I am always happy with the brunch menu. The place is a bit dark for brunch except if you're suffering from the previous night, then it's perfect. I enjoy the early hours, but when the hipsters/cheapsters take over, I'm out. I don't agree about the service, they may not be over friendly, but they are still courteous.Burgers are great!

Delicious/Reasonable Brunch, Great service
By doneganmri on 01/07/2005
"Pricey" is a matter of perception - as with all things, you get what you pay for - and for many of us in Queen Village/Bella Vista (gee, I hope we aren't part of that "center city crowd"!)that translates into a delicious and relaxed brunch offering at Royal Tavern. From breakfast pizza to the smoked fish dish to the more traditional omelets and the always interesting board specials, Royal does not disappoint. Neither do the Bloody Marys. Oh, and the service is friendly, efficient, and pleasant!

RT is a little pricey and its success is starting to attract the trendy Center City crowd on weekends. Nonetheless, RT has great food, friendly service, and is still a cool hangout.

Great food and beer, miserable service
By sinkake on 10/15/2004
I've been here many times and I've always been impressed with the beer selection and menu. However, the service staff, while quick and efficient, is almost always miserable and grouchy.
