University City, home of the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, and Philadelphia's new Avenue of Technology, along with cultural organizations, some of the city's best multi-ethnic restaurants, medical facilities and hospitals, is quickly becoming a hot and growing Philadelphia neighborhood. The Sheraton University, now owned by Penn, is in the thick of it all. A recent remodeling and upgrade of retail offerings, with a business center, car rental agency, and steak house and sports bar, have helped to modernize this nearly 400-room hotel with conference and meeting space. Shea's Steakhouse occupies most of the first floor and is the perfect place for steak lovers who like lots of television with their meal. The room has a television monitor on every available square foot of wall space. The hotel is also convenient to Amtrak's 30th Street Station, the Philadelphia International Airport, and Rt. 76, the Schuylkill Expressway. --Gail Bower
