Sisters Restaurant & Nightclub   

Tucked away on tiny Chancellor Street, this lesbian-centric restaurant/bar/club is hardly on the tip of the city's tongue -- and the familial, open-minded clientele wouldn't have it any other way. Host to some great dance nights and colorful special events, Sisters aims to encourage female empowerment and foster a real community for all women, gay or straight. That being said, there's as much fun as politics here: Sisters is a bar run by women for women, where you can meet women and feel safe, comfortable and at home. On Thursday through Sunday, DJs spin everything from country to techno in the mirror-heavy second-floor dance room. The rest of the week, you can find games, trivia contests and karaoke, which draw a number of gay men to the bar, as well as one of the best and friendliest Sunday brunch deals in the city.
