When Grape Street Pub moved into the old Club Chemistry on Manayunks Main Street, curious visitors and residents peered in the window of the old club, wondering what would take its storied place. In November 2004, their questions were answered when the owners of North (the bar) and Next (the BYOB) on South Street transformed the old GSP into 105 Social. The owners have gone for a combo pub and dance club that offers everything from pool tables, video games (classic Pac Man) and big-screen TVs, to a spin on traditional bottle service. Instead of Veuve Cliquot, patrons get a case of pony bottles of beer plus a bucket of ice. Theres also a menu that offers standard bar food like burgers and fries, plus slightly more elegant fare like risotto fritters. While 105 Socials already become a hot spot for game watching thanks to its six big-screen TVs, its also becoming known for its DJ sets by well-known local DJs as well as for an Old City-esque clientele that just wants to dance.
