The Blue Point Grill is the end product of owner Jack Morrison's love affair with fish. He opened a fish store on Princeton's Nassau Street in 1982, eventually getting into catering before finally opening his own restaurant. The menu is simple. Fish. Whatever's fresh comes pan-seared, grilled or sauteed, depending on the resistance of a particular swimmer's flesh. On any given day you might encounter Greek bronzino, Canadian lake trout, wild Copper River king salmon, New Zealand baramundi, Arctic char and perhaps seven varieties of oyster on the half-shell. There's usually a bouillabaisse and a seafood gumbo on the menu. The restaurant is simply appointed and the seating is comfortable but a little cramped. Come with at least a party of four and try to score a booth. -- T.K. Hoffman

Best Seafood on the East Coast
By Philip A Dawson on 07/01/2008
The Blue Point Grill is as good as it gets when it comes to excellent seafood fare. The menu is extensive with a dozen appetizers (the buffalo calamari is out of this world!) and two dozen varieties of fish. Everything is always fresh (the fish market is next door) and the menu changes based on what's in season. I have eaten at Blue Point at least 50 times and have never, ever received anything less than perfection. Prices run from $8 - $15 for appetizers and $18 to $36 for most entrees. It's byob with a liquor store nearby which can help save a bit on the overall cost though. Arrive early! They don't take reservations. We usually skip lunch and get there around 5:00, as oftentimes by 5:30 the wait can be 45 minutes or more. Of course, wandering around Princeton is a great way to kill the time if you end up on the wait list. Bottom line, come hungry, order an appetizer and an entree, and you'll leave full. Of course, if you're still looking for more, their desert selection is very good as well. Enjoy!

The very best in Princeton
By RNaid on 06/10/2008
I visit Blue Point Grill once a week, just can't get enough. The food is the best to be found anywhere in the Princeton area, always fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff is awesome especially the wait staff always polite and ready to cater to any request. What a pleasure to eat at the Blue Point Grill. I still haven't found any other seafood restaurant that even comes close enough to compete

Bring your own bottle, have a drink outside while you wait, family atmosphere and really good fresh fish. You will love it.
