The bowls are more akin to Chinese takeout containers and the toppings seem more attuned to hot fudge sundaes, but don't fool yourself -- you're in an all-cereal cafe. Jerry Seinfeld would be proud. Cereality debuted in November 2004 to national acclaim and hasn't seen a slow day since. Situated between the Penn and Drexel campuses, Cereality is already a University City staple. A familiar catalog of brand name cold and hot cereals comprise the standard menu, but the better bets are customized. A ''Your Way'' allows the choice of any two cereals (e.g. Cap'n Crunch and Froot Loops) and one topping (including not only the familiar bananas and strawberries but also coconut, M&Ms or chopped nuts). The "Our Way" leaves the creativity to the staff. For those against silverware, the Slurreality (a smoothie concocted of what would otherwise require a spoon) and Cereality bar (think Rice Krispies treats only with fancier cereals) might suit you better.

Great Service
By stillopposed on 01/03/2006
ok, so the bowls are way over-priced. And the menu is extremely busy and confusing. But the service is fantastic. They remember my order, have great suggestions for something new for any taste, and always smile. I recommend going for a missed-lunch snack on weekdays for fewer people and great service.

A Great Way to Start the Day
By msunseen on 01/02/2006
The first time I visited Cereality Bar & Cafe it was a rainy afternoon. Just entering the place brightened my day. Who wouldn't feel happy walking into that lively place, filled with colorful displays and cereal, cereal, cereal. It was like being a kid again except not in a candy store but in the Saturday morning kitchen of my imagination. So much cereal, so many toppings, so little time to try them all that day. I forgot I was a grandmother not my grandchild and indulged in my childhood favorite a bowl of Rice Crispies and topped with marshmallows. Oh, and the milk I chose was whole milk. I pretended I was young enough not to ever have heard of cholesterol. Best of all, the people who served were so friendly and efficient. I can't wait to go back again.
