Tucked into a two-room shop on one of Old City's quaint cobblestone streets, Old City Coffee was unfazed when a Starbucks opened its doors down the street in early 2004. That's because the shop, around since 1984, has a loyal clientele of regulars who come in not only for the fresh-roasted coffee beans and breakfast pastries like muffins, scones and Le Bus bagels, but also the homemade lunch items like soups, sandwiches, salads and quiche. The Old City location also carries organic yogurt from an Amish farm in Lancaster County. Both the Old City and Reading Terminal locations offer free wireless Internet access, making them a great place to get work done while also digesting a cup (or two) of the cafe's wide selection of coffees, teas and, in winter, hot cider. The company also offers coffee catering for large gatherings, including optional tabletop service.

Old City Coffee has a great environment to enjoy a delicious gourmet brew. I have been an everyday customer since about 1996, I can't get enough of their blends. Plus the have WIFI. Good salads and macaroni. I enjoy eating their pastries!
