Both sport a diner-type atmosphere all the way down to the revolving stools and stainless steel wall mounts, as well as a well-stocked refrigerator of beer. But only Dalessandro's boasts a Best of Philly award and the title 'Philly's King of Cheesesteaks.' Lean beef is cooked on a fat-seasoned grill, then placed on a quality, fresh Italian roll with real cheese. There are other options as well: turkey, steak and a popular tuna hoagie, as well as burgers and meatball sandwiches. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired, but that's not the attraction anyway. With only a few tables, a short counter and a regular line that has been known to extend out the door, you'll be enjoying your steak sandwich the Philly way -- standing up.
