In ShortAn era has ended for one of the primary restaurants to spur Old City's 1990's renaissance, as original chef Thien Ngo has retired to his native Vietnam to be replaced by Maia and Striped Bass alum Terence Feury. Under the guidance of national food darling, owner Ellen Yin, Feury shifts Fork's New American cuisine ever so slightly to emphasize hearty artisanal, handmade (and locally sourced) fare like pasta, breads and charcuterie. Fork is still contemporary and refined, and a place for hip 30-something city dwellers to meet for dates and middle-aged execs to meet with friends and clients.

SIT IN BACK!!!!!!!!
By washsq2 on 11/02/2004
You must request and confirm to be seated in the back. Then call the day of your reservation and have them reconfirm your seat again -- They will try to switch you once tyou are there. If you sit in frinf, you get no tablecloths, bad service, the inabilaty to talk to your dinner partner and people at the bar banging into your chairs. The menu and prices are thew same but your experience will be much, much less if you sit in the front. Please note the exception is the 2 window tables, they are great.

It all depends wher you sit!
By rivconhp on 06/08/2004
This restaurant has great food and service. However your experience will be either great or awful depending where you sit. If you sit in the rear main dining room your evening will be memorable. If they try to sit you in the front area, my advice is go to Burger King. While the food is the same, you feel like you are eating in the a subway sation. Make sure when you make a reservation, they can confirm you will be sitting in the rear main dining room or don't go!

one of old city's best
By reedequine on 06/06/2004
Fork is definitely my top place in Old City. However, I suggest you try it for lunch, the atmosphere is much more relaxed then. Our lunches have all been 5 star, but dinners there have bordered on the average.

Excellent Experience
By adh921 on 05/21/2004
My wife and I went to Fork tonight and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, well presented and served perfectly. I had the warm asparagus salad and the hanger steak and my wife had a delicious pate and spicy taco appetizer. The ambiance is a pleasure and the service people are all pleasant and friendly. We will be back.
