In ShortAn era has ended for one of the primary restaurants to spur Old City's 1990's renaissance, as original chef Thien Ngo has retired to his native Vietnam to be replaced by Maia and Striped Bass alum Terence Feury. Under the guidance of national food darling, owner Ellen Yin, Feury shifts Fork's New American cuisine ever so slightly to emphasize hearty artisanal, handmade (and locally sourced) fare like pasta, breads and charcuterie. Fork is still contemporary and refined, and a place for hip 30-something city dwellers to meet for dates and middle-aged execs to meet with friends and clients.

Valentine's Day 2002 was special because of Fork. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff friendly and attentive (all who looked at you smiled genuinely - how refreshing!), and the food was just right. For our prix fixe meal we chose the oyster and mushroom chowder, a shrimp and crabcake appetizer, filet mignon, whole striped bass, and for dessert we chose the warm banana caramel tart, and chocolate truffles (both of which were packaged by Fork with love and eaten for breakfast the next day with our coffee). To top off the evening, our waitress presented us with a gorgeous red tulip to take home. Our experience was intimate, romantic, and memorable. Thank you Fork ...

Inexpensive but excellent food and service in a relaxed but classy atmosphere. Must try the stewed oysters with saffron appetizer; this was the best oyster dish I have ever eaten. The total bill for three people was $107 which included appetizers, entre and two glasses of wine each.

The food is excellent and the value for the quality is outstanding. The soups portions are large and are very good. The vegetables - especially the garlic spinach -are very fresh. Nice place to take guests.
