Star of India is the best Indian fare in the West Chester area, far surpassing its other Indian countepart right down the street, India Garden. While the service may not be the course-after-course, shovel the food down pace that many modern diners are used to, this family-run operation has a warm, homey quality that has me coming back time and time again. The food is rich, and the mango lassi is the smoothest, creamiest, and most refreshing I have ever had, as you may have read in my boyfriend's previous review.

As a 4**** restaurant chef, I have fairly discerning tastes. When it comes to indian food I have had alot of so-so quality, but the food at Star of India is truely superb. Going to this restaurant is as much a culinary experience as a cultural one. The restaurant is family run, and they are very good with specific requests. Students eat 10% off for lunch, and they have the best magno lassi on earth; according to my boyfriend.
