Amsterdam   

Amsterdam was a top notch bar, and at least somebody [yes-Todd is God for creating said gay heaven on earth, and better is yet to come] who had the vision to invest some of the money back into a gay bar and create something high end and unique. For all you that gripe about Amsterdam and the clicks… I for one think there is nothing more enjoyable than having a fine Martini on the weekends with my “click” while sitting back in luxurious comfort, watching some poor tragic queen come in ordering a high dollar exotic drink only to have a look on their face suddenly develop not seen since their doll house caught fire when the bar tender tells them the price of the tab! You get what you pay for… It’s an event of gay humanity that can truly only be enjoyed at luxurious comfort of Amsterdam. If you can’t stand the heat- get out of the kitchen; and if you can’t affords it, get up to Roscoe’s or any one of the other gay bars in the Phoenix area - and enjoy the drunken cows with wigs that consumed a pitcher of beer for $1 and don’t mind the roaches crawling across your feet while some guy without a full set of teeth grabs your behind. You won’t find any of that at Amsterdam and the price of the drinks pretty much guarantees that!

Many of the previous reviews were written before the remodeling job. There is now a new dance club Club Miami that is connected to Amsterdam. Service should be better with the new patio bar, but that'***** and miss. When we went we were treated crappy by one of the owners, Todd. Watch out for him, he thinks he's god. The music in the club was typical Top 40, but it all depends on who's spinning. We really enjoy dancing to Sister Sin and Juan. There is a bit less attitude in this bar now that the dance floor has opened. But bring friends with you because people tend to be in little clicks. Not a place to meet someone or strike up a conversation. Very few masculine types and a high percentage of straight females. Drinks are pricey, so bring plenty of cash. Don't run a tab for they often get screwed up or are inaccurate. Happens way too often. Oh, did I mention boring?
