Club Central   

The people, music and a rotation of themes and specials make Club Central a different experience each night. The heavily African-American clientele knows no boundaries when it comes to age. Trim young fashionistas may occupy the table next to slightly grizzled seniors but they share a toe-tapping appreciation for music with some heart and soul. Some nights the music is live, sometimes it all falls to a DJ or, gulp, karaoke. Stark brick walls and low ceilings give this club an authentic jazz-club feel, making you think you could step outside and find yourself on Bourbon Street instead of Central Avenue. Ladies are the winners two nights a week when they escape paying the cover; aspiring comics take charge on open-mic Wednesdays. Whether it's margaritas on Latino night or half-price drinks other nights, there's always a drink promo and sometimes a free buffet of munchies. Parking is free thanks to the Park Central Mall location.
