Nestled between the Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell franchise sits a nondescript rectangular block building that comes alive on the weekends. Club Macarena is the areas hotbed for live, authentic Mexican music. A steady stream of bands from across the southwest and the interior of Mexico grace Club Macarenas stage and keep the crowd moving on the dance floor. Norteno, Tex-Mex, Salsa, Tejano and Banda are some of the more popular musical genres at this Latino hangout. The bands bring their colorful performance styles too. With cowboy hats, fancy boot and oversized belt buckles, the band members strut on stage while pounding out lively beats on accordions, guitars or various percussion instruments.
