From Chicano cowboys with bolo ties and white Stetsons to sexy chicas in tight red dresses, this crowded nightclub is where hip Hispanics party each weekend. The cash-only bar features a wide array of Mexican beer, imported drinks and tequila. A huge dance floor with a raised center platform covers much of the warehouse-style interior. Expect bright neon lights, long entrance lines and throngs of sweaty dancers crowding every inch of available space. The club caters to the entire Hispanic community, but the music has a distinctly Mexican flavor. Live mariachi, banda (Mexican pop) and traditional folk music appeal to the adult crowd, but it's a modern dance called the quebradita and the "Baile del Perrito" (dance of the dog) that appeal to teens; underage couples leave the safety of their roped-off alcohol-free zone to bump and grind in an erotic contest of dance skill. The club is located in a seedier part of town, but heavily patrolled parking and police presence ensures the safety of late night revelers.
