For those who crave Mexican food in an upscale environment, Ajo Al's fits the bill with its trendy southwest decor of polished saltillo tile, bronze walls and wrought iron wall hangings. And it's nearly impossible to ignore the happening salsa sounds piped into the bar and dining room. The chic Camelback corridor crowd can be seen sipping Mexican martinis and various margaritas. The Mexican cuisine is part south of the border and part Arizona Southwest fusion. The tamales take a turn from the ordinary with seafood filling, and the enchiladas follow suit with spinach. For traditionalists, the menu also includes Mexican staples: tacos, burritos and fajitas. The house specialty is pollo con queso.

This place is amazing! They have the best Ono fish tacos.
Their food is the best Mexican in Phx Area...(.other than Rito's.)More upscale.
I live in Detroit now and I dream about Ajo Al's.....Always my first stop in Glendale...when I head home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been eating at Ajo Al's for 10 years and I would never go to another Mexican food restaurant! They are the BEST Mexican food in Arizona! Family owned and ran, makes the difference. Hands down I Love Ajo Al's!!
Yummy and different
Say what you want, I'll be back for another Pollo con Queso. The two different temps of salsa are a far cry away from "Mild/Hot/Fire" at the local Taco Ding-Dong. If drive-thru fake-Mex is what you want, go back to the northeast. That's all they've got. From the mountainous bean nachos through the sweet dessert temptations, Ajo Al's deserves to be listed among the best in the area.
