A trendy hotspot known for an after-hours bar atmosphere, AZ 88 serves lunch and dinner in an eclectically designed establishment. Guests are greeted by an extensive all-white patio with an angular, artistically inspired bright orange sunshade/mood light and views of green common areas and fountains. Inside, sueded sofa-like chairs, booths and modern decor complement well-spaced dark wood tables, earth tones and leather chairs. High ceilings support giant mirrors and 1930s-style telephones which cover walls above a steel bar bestowing an ultra modern atmosphere. Culinary specialties include a variety of traditional appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and plates such as Asian shrimp with snow peas, pea pods, water chestnuts, green beans and toasted sesame seeds on a bed of egg noodles, and Bonfire chicken with red potatoes and crisp slaw. Dinner and lunch are surprisingly affordable with an option of splitting a large sandwich with your companion for a nominal fee. Numerous desserts are available, including fresh fruit, Haagen Dazs sundaes and cheesecake. Make sure to sample what AZ 88 is famous for: their martinis. AZ 88 also draws a big late-dining crowd -- the kitchen stays open until 1AM .

Casual dining in Scottsdale
By idevji on 04/10/2000
Casual but upscale, this bar has great cocktails and good simple food like salads and the best chicken sandwiches in town. Centrally located in the middle of Old-Town Scottsdale's bar and restaraunt district. Great view of the Center for the Arts and a nice patio for dining or drinks when the weather is nice. I often have drinks here after having Indian food at Jewel of the Crown, which is two doors down. I like the modern decor and scuplted booths, Az88 is all glass and is very light and airy, a nice change from dark smokey bars.

Great Martini's

AZ88 has a great atmosphere and the best Martini's in town. I also love the burgers. Friday nights is an alternative lifestyle crowd (i.e. G&L).
