This gentle restaurant sits in a plain, windowless box building, but don't let that fool you. Inside, you'll find another world, where it's easy to lose track of time as you relax to soft lighting and the soothing sounds of a trickling indoor fountain. Autumn Court's Asian decor is busy but tasteful. The inviting, inexpensive Chinese cuisine includes dishes from the Mandarin, Canton and Szechwan provinces. If you don't know one from the other, don't worry, because the simple menu explains each dish quite nicely. It includes such favorites as chop suey, egg foo yong, chow mein and lo mein. The barbecue pork foo yong is a delightful blend of Old and New World tastes. Fried and steamed rice are no-charge options, and sweet and sour shrimp or pork goes great with either. A tip for tender palates -- the sweet and sour sauce is slightly spicier than most. You can order at the table or try the buffet to sample as many items as possible.
