Year after year, this venerable and versatile restaurant wins multiple Best of Phoenix awards for Best Chinese, Best Asian Seafood and Best Dim Sum. It's comparable to the elite restaurants in the Chinatowns of San Francisco and New York. The warehouse-sized eatery houses large aquariums. You want fresh? Your meal is still swimming in the holding tanks when you place your order. Choose the critter you want -- several varieties of fish, plus crab, lobster, scallops and clams -- and they'll prepare it in a dozen ways with a dozen sauces. For landlubbers, C-Fu's menu includes an extensive menu of other Chinese delicacies, like tangy Imperial Chicken, moist and battered in a sweet-and-spicy dark sauce. The lunch menu offers a bargain for food of this quality, priced from $5 to $7. The famous Dim Sum is also served daily at lunch. Carts are wheeled around, each loaded with delicacies. Choose the ones that look interesting, share them with the rest of your party and pay for what you choose. It's a delightful way to familiarize yourself with various dishes that you may want to order for dinner. The dinner menu is also reasonable, ranging from about $8 for chicken with vegetables to $20 for Peking Duck. It features nine regional sauces, from Szechuan to Cantonese.

Great food
By THEOSINGER on 05/16/2008
This may not be the prettiest place in town but the food is GREAT. From average Chinese dishes to elaborate items that I normally reserve for ordering in Hong Kong or mainland China this place does great. Service is fine but be prepared to have 5 or more little Chinese servers that will do anything it takes to make you happy. The owner is one of the tallest Chinese men I have met and he serves up some great faire. I especially love their Soft Shell Crab. And you can expect excellect prices. Dim Sum on Sunday is more than great.

I have to say if you want fresh seafood, then this is the place to come...as far as chicken dishes go, you never know what you're getting with chicken so I stay away. If you're new to Dim Sum, try it out- Just don't be afraid of being a little out of place (on a side note: I was distressed by a reviewer's refusal to tip, that's just terrible practice. Servers get 3.15/hr if that...not tipping is tacky and rude! 15% is common place- I personally always tip at least 20%- don't be stingy, you live in the East Valley for god's sake--- you can afford it...)

lIVING ON PAST REPUTATION
By topcarpentry on 02/08/2006
OK, so I'm new to Phoenix and the Chandler area. So when I spotted C FU while driving I stopped in to see the menu. I was impressed with the room. So I came back for dinner with a relative. She has lived in NY and had the opportunity to partake of the culinary pleasures of it's famous China Town for many decades. Boy were we non-plussed. The soul of this place has gone. The room is grand in the old New York, San Francisco style of mega-Chinatowns. Unfortunatley the staff is unable to serve in the traditional manner of warmth and cordiality. They lack the communication skills and we found that they had to be repeatedly reminded of our requests. As for the food: we ordered from the "early bird specials". I think I've had better Chinese food at virtually 95% of all the Chinese restaurants I've ever eaten in. And, having spent most of my life around NYC and LA (with visits to SF) with a strong appreciation for Asian foods, Chinese in particular, I can flatly say that the lustre this grand space once had is not just tarnished , it has evaporated. The food was just barely pallatable and the service was truly awful. Hmmm, why on earth would anyone recommend this place?
