In a setting straight from a '70s action B-movie, China Village serves batches of Chinese food that kick the competition. The building stands out on Indian School Road with its rice-paper exterior and sign spelled out in Chinese characters. Inside, the dark booths, fish tanks and dated architecture gush Asian gusto while the food is candid, mid-scale Chinese. The accommodations stand in stark contrast to ultra-trendy P.F. Chang restaurants, but in China Village you can find anything that Chang's has plus more authentic selections at much lower prices. Popular picks include chow mein, chop suey, egg foo young, lunch combinations, seafood and chef's specialties including Peking duck. Dining here is a quirky experience that is true Chinese cuisine.

I lived in the Camelback area and often ate at China Village. Their food is excellent and the service very good. They also do take outs.

I have not been to every chinese restaurant in town. However, I have been to quite of few. In addition to several in San diego. China village is very good and places second in my book to my favorite in the phoenix area. And that one will remain un metioned.

This extraordinary, quaint restaurant never serves buffet food. Each dish is prepared when ordered by authentic chinese chefs. Shhhh, don't tell everybody, the place is cozy and could easily become crowded. Treat yourself to an excellent dinner served by the congenial staff
