Kitschy beach items are in abundance in this playa place in the middle of the desert. and so is the smell of the broiled chicken, beef and pork ribs. Chicken fajita salads and tri-tip sandwiches are specialties. Of course, you can get an ice cold Mexican cerveza and a pitcher of margaritas, but the frozen daiquiris can be disappointingly weak. The cheap eats and casual environment makes families happy. There's also a biker contingent, and you can expect to see Harleys and the like out front. Karaoke fans can caterwaul to their hearts' content on weekends after dark.

THE FOOD IS FLAVORFUL AND THE AMBIANCE IS FANTASTIC THE SERVICE IS ALWAYS A PLEASURE ESPECIALLY DEREK THE GM AT THE GLENDALE LOCATION GREAT AIRBRUSHING AND F*%#ING AWSOME CONCEPT THE MARG'S ROCK LOVE THIS PLACE CANT STOP GOING TO ALL THE LOCATIONS THEY SEEM TO BE EVERYWHERE
TRYING TO RIP OFF CUSTOMERS
I HAVE BEEN EATING AT CHUYS FOR ABOUT 13 YRS., HAD MANY DINNERS AND LOTS OF GOOD TIMES AT ORIG. ONE IN CARPINTERIA,CA 1991-92. ATE AT MOST PHOENIX LOCATIONS OVER THE LAST 10 YRS, AND WAS ALWAYS SERVED GOOD FOOD.. TONITE AT TEMPE LOCATION ON BASELINE I ORDERED THE "USUAL" 1/2 CHICKEN DINNER.. I WAS SERVED 2 GREASY LEGS, AND 2 LEFTOVER THIGHS.. NICE TRY.. APPARENTLY THE TWIRPS WORKING THE TEMPE LOCATION THINK CUSTOMERS WONT NOTICE IF THEY TRY TO FEED YOU "SCRAPS".. AND SAY A 1/2 CHICKEN MEANS "4 PIECES" ..THEN SNOTTY WAITRESS CALLED CALL IT A "4- PIECE DINNER".. THE MENU SAYS 1/2 CHICKEN. NOT LEGS AND THIGH DINNER..CHIPS AND SALSA BAR WAS NASTY ALSO.. MNGMT SHOULD BE FIRED...
