This is not the place to take Uncle Bob for his birthday. But for a romantic special occasion, it can produce lifelong memories. The Pointe is one of the most spectacular restaurants in the world, perched on a hilltop overlooking the entire Valley of the Sun. From the patio, 1,800 feet above Phoenix, you'll be mesmerized by a glorious Arizona sunset. Move inside, seated next to floor-to-ceiling windows, and watch the fading sunset slowly dissolve into a panorama of twinkling city lights. There's no charge for the view, but the Pointe makes up for it with expensive menu prices. An appetizer, entree and dessert can cost up to $50 apiece -- plus the wine, of course, since this is a special occasion. The menu changes with the seasons, based on innovative French-Italian-Mediterranean flavors. Many of the herbs and fresh vegetables are grown in the mountainside Chef's Garden. A typical appetizer is jumbo shrimp slicked in a delightful lemon-habenero glaze, teamed with glazed mushrooms and roasted pancetta sauce. An entree of milk-fed rack of lamb is served with basil-garlic potatoes and braised baby artichokes. Also, poached Maine lobster is paired with roasted diver scallops, served with wild mushrooms and lemon-scented fava beans, plus a side of sweet chili-lobster-butter spaghetti. A sommelier is on hand to help you find the appropriate wines from an awesome, award-winning list of over 1,000 selections. If your credit card has room, spring for the five-course Chef's Tasting Menu, pairing each course with a different wine. After dinner, you can adjourn for drinks on one of several cozy terraced patios overlooking the city lights. Then you can go home with your sweetie and seek the perfect end to an evening of romance.

Very Romantic and Delicious

This is our absolute and favorite special occasion restaurant. Anniversaries, birthdays, & Valentine's Day we always have dinner there. Chef Flowers has the most delicious and original appetizers and entree's than any other restaurant or resort in the valley. If we were able we would eat there at least once a month! Chef Flowers Lobster Bisque is to die for. It is by far the BEST in the valley!

Great experience!

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday back in June, and we had an awesome time! It was a bit difficult to find the place, but then again we parked at the bottom, and hiked all the way up...very steep roads + 110 degree weather + dressed up in heels= not so smart. Haha, but once we got there, the service was excellent. We got there right at sunset, so the view was amazing. I had the lamb chop meal, and he had the lobster dish...both were mouth watering. The waiters were prompt and accomodating, without being overbearing. I asked them several questions about some of the dishes, and they were very knowledgable. Would definitely reccommend this to anyone who is looking for a romantic restaurant with a terrific view of the city!
