When this highly acclaimed SoCal steakhouse opened a location in Phoenix, many delighted Arizonans knew exactly what to expect. It meant the same first-rate food, service and atmosphere they'd been enjoying trekking out to La Jolla for was now just across town. Two of Donovan's principal owners live in the Valley and had been pushing for a Phoenix location. This one features the same rich, dark wood appointments and club-like atmosphere where repeat diners are treated more like members than customers. It includes a wine bar and cigar smoking lounge, plus seven private dining rooms. The focus is on USDA prime, Midwestern corn-fed beef, including nine steaks from five cuts. Other animal protein includes pork chop, Australian rack of lamb, veal chop, shrimp scampi, fresh Atlantic salmon and Australian lobster tail. Unlike most other high-end steakhouses, you're not charged extra for potatoes and veggies, and valet parking is complimentary. You can apply the savings to sample Donovan's famous inventory of classic vintage wines from around the world. Offerings range from moderately priced dessert wines by the glass to a $150 vintage Bordeaux and a $3,000 Chateau Mouton.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

My family and i had Christmas Eve dinner there and it was perfect. I had the T-Bone cooked med, it melted like butter. The service was amazing and the food was better. Great looking setting, perfect service and outstanding steaks. Treat yourself and visit there, ask for Gary as a waiter. It averages about 80 a person with steaks and a few beers, but its worth every penny. Its only money, youll make more. DONOVANS IS THE BEST STEAK HOUSE IN AZ

My wife and I love this restaurant. The food was spectacular and the service does make you feel special. Our experiences could not have been better.

Lookout competition, here's a winner

A buddy and I have a friendly monthly sales competition where the winner buys dinner. I won last month and I chose Donovan's. I knew it had just opened up recently was waiting for an excuse to try it out.

I've frequented many steakhouses in the Phoenix area but this one takes the crown. I had the New York Strip and frankly, this is the only place that does it right. The staff performed above par (or under par for you golfers) and no detail went unnoticed. What we have here is the flagship of steakhouses.

Telling friends and co-workers about my dinner last night, I searched on the web to see what I could find. I'm surprised that there are few reviews for this great dining experience so I'm pleased to offer my stamp of approval for Donovan's Steakhouse.

Outstanding Steak House in the Camelback Corridor

I've been hearing good things about Donovan's Steak House located in the Camelback Corridor, so my wife and I were quite excited to finally sample their fare.

I ordered the 24oz Prime Ribeye Chop that was cooked to perfection. My wife had the Filet Mignon; it was extremely tender and delicious. They also offered an extensive wine list offering several fine choices. The staff had very responsive service and catered to our every need. We had the Triple Chocolate Brownie for desert and it was the perfect ending to our meal.

Every aspect of our dining experience at Donovan's Steak House was stellar.
